Malla is a visual builder for websites and web apps. It combines the free-form canvas and motion of Framer, the classes, CMS and SEO-first publishing of Webflow, and the data bindings and workflows of WeWeb, in one editor that runs entirely on Cloudflare’s edge.
You design on a canvas that renders real HTML and CSS, wire it to live data, add logic with visual workflows and publish to a global network with one click. No code is required, and nothing stops a developer from going deeper.
What you can build
Landing pages and portfolios, blogs and documentation, stores and directories, client portals and members areas, internal dashboards and small SaaS front ends. Anything that is a set of pages, some content, some data and some logic.
Principles
A few rules shape every part of the product. Knowing them makes the rest of these docs easier to follow.
- What you see is what ships. The canvas and the published site run the same renderer, so the editor never lies about the result.
- Real CSS, real HTML. Styles are plain CSS properties grouped by breakpoint and state. There is no proprietary layout model to learn.
- Zero JavaScript by default. Static pages ship as plain HTML and CSS. Only parts that bind data, run workflows or animate load a small runtime.
- Secrets never reach the browser. API keys and tokens live encrypted on the server; the browser only ever calls Malla.
- Nothing evaluates your strings. Expressions are parsed and interpreted safely, never passed to
eval. - Built-ins are plugins. REST, GraphQL and the CMS use the same plugin system that powers everything else.
How these docs are organized
The guides explain each feature from the editor’s point of view. The reference pages list every function, action and shortcut. The developer section explains how the platform is built and how to run it.
